• Treat every guest, volunteer, partner, and community member with dignity, kindness, patience, and respect.
• Serve individuals without discrimination, harassment, intimidation, bullying, or inappropriate behavior.
• Respect the privacy and dignity of individuals receiving assistance.
• Follow instructions provided by Rivers of Hope Ministries leadership and designated volunteer leaders.
• Follow all food-safety, lifting, equipment, facility, and distribution procedures.
• Maintain appropriate boundaries with children and vulnerable individuals.
• Never intentionally place myself in a situation where I am alone with an unrelated minor while serving through Rivers of Hope Ministries.
• Immediately report unsafe conditions, injuries, threats, harassment, suspected theft, inappropriate behavior, or other serious concerns to ministry leadership.
• Never remove food, clothing, supplies, gift cards, money, equipment, or other donated property without authorization.
• Never report for volunteer service while impaired by alcohol or illegal drugs.
• Not possess or use illegal drugs while volunteering.
• Follow the rules of any church, facility, food bank, community partner, or organization hosting or partnering with Rivers of Hope Ministries.

I understand that Rivers of Hope Ministries reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or discontinue an individual’s volunteer service when leadership determines that doing so is in the best interest of the ministry, its guests, volunteers, partners, or community.

• Keep guest and volunteer information confidential.
• Not photograph intake forms, identification, sign-in sheets, computer screens, or other records containing personal information.
• Not share names, addresses, phone numbers, financial circumstances, family situations, or other personal information learned through volunteering.
• Not post photographs or identifying information about individuals receiving assistance on social media without authorization from Rivers of Hope Ministries.
• Not use information obtained through the ministry to contact, solicit, market to, or otherwise approach guests for personal or business purposes.
• Direct questions regarding guest information to Rivers of Hope Ministries leadership.

I understand that confidentiality continues even after my volunteer service ends.

• Wash or sanitize my hands as instructed.
• Follow instructions regarding food handling and storage.
• Immediately report leaking, spoiled, contaminated, damaged, or questionable food.
• Not distribute food that leadership has instructed volunteers to discard or hold.
• Use safe lifting techniques and ask for assistance with heavy items.
• Use carts, pallet jacks, ladders, vehicles, or other equipment only when authorized and capable of doing so safely.
• Immediately report injuries or accidents to ministry leadership.
• Follow emergency and severe-weather instructions.

I understand that Rivers of Hope Ministries cannot guarantee that I will never appear incidentally in the background of photographs taken at public or large community events.

Rivers of Hope Ministries will make every reasonable effort to honor photo preferences. Please inform the event leader if you selected ‘No’ so we can help ensure you are not included in photographs or videos.
